Rhode Island’s forests and trees may seem like a green backdrop to our landscape, but they are hard at work generating a wide range of services and values. This webinar will offer an overview of our state’s forests and the benefits they provide, from being a place where people and wildlife can thrive to protecting our health and contributing to the economy. The presentation will also highlight the essential role forests have in Rhode Island’s climate resiliency strategy – while also explaining how climate change is impacting our forests and practical approaches to helping them adapt.
Christopher Riely supports a collaborative forestry program between URI and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. A Certified Forester and Arborist who has extensive experience working with family landowners, he is also a co-founder and Co-Coordinator of the Rhode Island Woodland Partnership.
