Can Governments Solve the Climate Crisis? [Video]

In this module, Michael Barber answers the question: “Are modern governments sufficiently equipped to coordinate a response to the climate crisis?”, focusing in particular on: (i) the unique challenges to international cooperation posed by the climate crisis; (ii) the need to prioritise the climate crisis across governments and over time; (iii) the argument that governments at the present moment are not equipped to solve the climate crisis; (iv) exactly what the UK government needs to do to solve the climate crisis, including making both short and long term plans.–This lecture is part of a larger course, which takes the form of a series of questions put to Sir Michael Barber, a senior government advisor. The full course can be found here: https://www.massolit.io/courses/uk-politics-michael-barber-on-government?source=yt–MASSOLIT works with university academics to produce short video lectures in the arts, sciences, humanities and social sciences.
